The best way to find out more about Queen Mary’s is to come and visit. We would be delighted to welcome you here to talk with the Head about your plans for your child’s future education and to have a guided tour of the buildings, grounds and facilities. It is also highly recommended that your daughter spends some time at the school in the form of a taster day. This will allow her to be given as comprehensive a picture as possible of the workings of the school.
Queen Mary’s is a non-selective school; we offer places to all children to whom we believe we can provide a relevant and suitable education, appropriate to their needs. There are no entrance exams, unless applying for a scholarship, however, assessment tests may be carried out and reports from previous schools requested. Further information on scholarships can be found here.
Entry to the school can be into any year providing there is a space. Children are admitted in each year group to a maximum of 16 (Years 1-3) and 32 (Years 4 – 11). Class numbers will often be significantly lower than this however.
Parents wishing to enter their child for Queen Mary’s should return the registration form, enclosing a cheque for £75 (£25 nursery) made payable to Queen Mary’s School, to cover the registration fee (non-refundable). Both parents must sign the registration form.
Registration does not guarantee a place at the school.
Following the receipt of a registration form, the school will normally set out the offer of a place at the school in writing. The offer will be accompanied by the school’s Terms and Conditions and an Acceptance Form which is required to be signed by the parents (and the fee payer where applicable). A deposit of £500, which is held until the pupil leaves the school, will also be required (for Reception to Y11). The request for this will be sent with the offer of a place.
