It was wonderful to see pupils of all ages as well as staff and parents cheering each other on, having fun and joining in the inter-house rivalry at the Whole School Sports Day. Congratulations to Jervaulx who were crowned overall winners.
It was great to catch up with many Queen Mary’s girls, parents and old girls at Bramham Horse Trials.
The Music and Drama Departments continue to set the bar higher and higher with exceptional Speech and Drama examination results and an incredible Italian Music Tour.
Work continues on the installation of Queen Mary’s School’s synthetic pitch which will provide a full-sized floodlit 4G pitch certified for hockey, netball and tennis together with a multi-functional pavilion and changing facility and additional car parking for the pitch.
Queen Mary’s inaugural Awe and Wonder Day included two inspirational talks from Afghan refugee, Gulwali Passarlay for the older girls and The Journey of Paddington Bear workshops led by Ripon City of Sanctuary for the younger girls.
What a wonderful day, celebrating all the achievements of our girls over the last academic year and saying a heart-felt goodbye to our S3 Leavers.
What a night! Congratulations to all our girls who won awards. In other sporting news, Grace, aged 11, achieved her black belt in Karate and the Athletics and Rounders’ seasons are in full flow.
Last weekend ten girls confirmed their faith in a service led by the Bishop of Whitby, Paul Ferguson, and our own Chaplain, Rev Graham Wright.
Congratulations to Dee, Maisie and Amelia who jumped at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
Queen Mary’s Charity of the Year for 2017-2018 has been in touch. Karkeri School has expanded over the last few years from 100 to 400 pupils.
