Queen Mary’s School Riders Shine at NSEA Championships
In a thrilling display of equestrian talent, Queen Mary’s School riders conquered the NSEA Championships, emerging as the highest-ranked school in the region. The event marked a historic moment for Queen Mary’s School, as they fielded more teams than ever before.
The Jumping With Style 70cm team, consisting of Florence T, Peggy A, and Pippa G, rode their way to an outstanding 5th place finish in the final, competing against a formidable field of 15 teams. The twist in the story was Florence T stepped in last minute to join the team. Despite the unexpected challenge, Florence clinched the top spot in the individual rankings out of 15 teams and 35 participants.
In the 70cm Showjumping Team Snaffle event, Queen Mary’s once again showcased remarkable horsemanship. The team comprising of Isabelle L, Peggy A, Pippa G and Florence T, delivered a fantastic performance, securing another 5th place finish in the final. However, it was no easy feat, as the girls had to deliver flawless and lightning-fast rides during the morning qualifiers to secure a spot among the top 8 teams eligible for the jump-off.
“With such a talented and dedicated group of up-and-coming equestrians, the school is poised for an exciting new season filled with promise and potential. As they continue to hone their skills and work together as a team, there’s no doubt that Queen Mary’s School will remain a force to be reckoned with in the world of equestrian sports.” Alice Clennan, Equestrian Centre Manager, Queen Mary’s School.
