Dandelion Jam Making
Did you know that Dandelions are edible and one of the healthiest plants on the planet with 8 times more antioxidants and 5 times more vitamins than spinach? As well as a vital food source for an abundance of different wildlife.
With this in mind the children in Pre-Prep have been learning all about Dandelions in Forest School and decided to use this readily available superfood to make some Dandelion Jam!
The children spent an enjoyable sunny afternoon collecting and processing the flower petals which they turned into Dandelion tea before adding more ingredients and cooking the mixture over a camp stove in the garden.
Leaving the jam to set over the weekend they came back to enjoy a very yummy afternoon snack of Dandelion Jam on bread.
