Jubilee Joy at Queen Mary’s
What an end to the Summer Half Term! Jubilee joy was had by all at Queen Mary’s School to mark the occasion of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
A tea party was held in the grounds with over 300 people in attendance. Highlights of the day included the Royal Jubilee Hat Parade, judged by Jonny Beardsall, renowned milliner and parent of OM Hebe Beardsall, while Opera singer and singing teacher Lucy Brown led the school in the National Anthem.
A card signed by all the pupils at school was sent to the Queen, with this image of her visiting Duncombe Park in 1942. This was the Queen’s first official visit outside London and took place alongside her parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
