Yorkshire Private School, Queen Mary’s, Welcomes New Head, Mrs Beadnell
Queen Mary’s School Welcomes New Head, Mrs Beadnall, To It’s School Community
We’re thrilled to start the new 2025-26 academic year with Mrs Beadnall in place as the new Headmistress. If you missed the information about Mrs Beadnall and the new appointment, you can read it here. As sad as it is to see the retirement of our beloved past Headteacher, Mrs. Cameron, we know that this transition will be a seamless one after they worked so closely together last term.
Our new Head comes from Barnard Castle School where she stood as Deputy Head for over 6 years. She attended an all-girls school herself and is passionate about Girls Leadership.

A Welcome From Fe Beadnell – The New Head at Queen Mary’s School, Topcliffe.
Dear Queen Mary’s Community,
It is an absolute honour to be joining Queen Mary’s as your new Head. From the moment I first visited, I was struck by the energy, ambition, and warmth that radiates from every part of the school — a place where girls are not only encouraged to achieve academic excellence but are also inspired to lead, grow, and explore.
Queen Mary’s is a school where every girl is known, valued and empowered. Here, education is not limited to the classroom. It is found on the sports field, on stage, on horseback, through outdoor adventure, and in every challenge, embraced with courage and curiosity. This is an environment where girls build confidence, develop resilience, and discover their voice.
Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about shaping schools where pupils love to learn, and subsequently thrive. I believe wholeheartedly in nurturing academic excellence, leadership skills, self-belief, and a sense of purpose in every girl, equipping her for the world beyond school.
At Queen Mary’s, the blend of academic ambition, personal development, adventure and opportunity is exceptional. It is this combination that gives our pupils the freedom to grow into young women who are not only capable and articulate, but also kind, adaptable and unafraid to lead.
As I look ahead to leading this vibrant community, I am excited to build on the legacy of Mrs Carole Cameron and to work alongside pupils, staff, parents and governors to ensure Queen Mary’s continues to offer an education that is as individual as it is exceptional.
I look forward to meeting many of you in the months ahead and beginning this new chapter together.
Warmest wishes,
Mrs Fe Beadnell
