Queen Mary’s School Academic Scholars’ Enrichment Day in Edinburgh
This weekend, our academic scholars embarked on an enriching adventure in Edinburgh, combining learning, exploration, and excitement. The day began with a fascinating visit to Edinburgh’s world class science centre, Dynamic Earth, where the girls delved into the origins of our universe, tracing the journey from the Big Bang to the present day. It was an incredible opportunity to explore the science behind how everything began and how our world continues to evolve.

The scholars were then privileged to meet Dr. Pool OBE, who gave an inspiring talk about the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the digital world. Her insights into how AI is shaping our future left the girls with much to think about as they considered the possibilities and challenges ahead.
No trip to Edinburgh would be complete without exploring its rich history and culture. The girls enjoyed a visit to the National Museum of Scotland, where they discovered a wealth of knowledge about Scotland’s past, present, and future. And, of course, no educational trip is complete without a little indulgence – the girls were happily fuelled by chocolate, making the experience all the sweeter.
This enriching day offered our scholars not only a chance to expand their academic horizons but also to enjoy the sights and sounds of one of Scotland’s most vibrant cities. It was a wonderful blend of learning, discovery, and fun that the girls will surely remember.
