‘Dido and Aeneas’ Opera and Music Triumphs
Who said you can’t stage an opera including a cast with an average age of 14? Queen Mary’s can! Audiences were captivated. The standard of singing and performance was exceptional. In other Music news, congratulations to all our Junior and Senior girls who took part in the Harrogate Competitive Festival of Music, Speech and Drama, a number of girls won trophies including Grace, Year 9, who won the Under 19 Strings Class. ABRSM Music examination results are back with several distinctions including one in Grade 8 Piano for Emilia, Year 11. Flautist Annabelle, Year 8, is playing with the National Youth Orchestra and has performed her own recital at Middlesbrough Town Hall this half term.
