GCSE Results Reflect Another Outstanding Academic Year at Queen Mary’s School, Topcliffe
There was much to celebrate at Queen Mary’s School, North Yorkshire, as pupils received an exceptional set of GCSE results, marking the end of another successful academic year. Ranked among the top 10 independent schools nationally (without a Sixth Form), Queen Mary’s continues to combine academic excellence with a rich programme of personal development and leadership opportunities.

This year, over 33% of all Grades awarded were 8 or 9, the highest possible, with 56% of pupils achieving Grades 7–9. Many exceeded their individual progress targets, reflecting Queen Mary’s dedication to tailored academic support, stretch and challenge, and holistic growth.

A Message from the Head
Mrs Carole Cameron, Retiring Head of Queen Mary’s, said:
“We are incredibly proud of our pupils and our value-added score of +0.9. On average, our girls achieved almost a full grade higher than predicted, a remarkable accomplishment.
These results showcase their talent, ambition, and resilience, supported by an exceptional team of staff who care deeply and teach brilliantly. Every girl is known, valued, and encouraged to aim high and it is wonderful to see their efforts rewarded.”

Incoming Head Mrs Fe Beadnell added:
“It is a privilege to be joining Queen Mary’s at such an inspiring time. These results are a credit to the whole community; dedicated teachers, supportive families, and above all, the pupils, who combine academic success with leadership, adventure, and creativity.
Queen Mary’s offers a truly holistic education, and I look forward to building on this tradition as we help each girl discover her strengths and shape her future.”
