Riders Best in North Yorkshire
Equestrian teams from Queen Mary’s School have achieved top positions at the National County Championship for the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA), including winning the title ‘Best in North Yorkshire’.
Success came for both Queen Mary’s 70cm teams. Team A finished with four clear rounds taking 1st place, winning the County Qualifier for Hickstead and the title ‘Best in North Yorkshire’. Congratulations also went to Team B who gained a 3rd place podium finish. Team A went on to take 2nd place at the Epworth Equestrian Centre NSEA Arena Eventing, again qualifying for Hickstead.
Queen Mary’s 80cm team finished first in North Yorkshire out of 13 teams and the 100cm team riders finished in a great 2nd position for North Yorkshire.
Queen Mary’s pupil, Tegan Ford, aged 11 gained further success qualifying for Hickstead coming first as an individual in the 80cm after a clear round and the quickest time.
Tegan was delighted: “It has been an amazing experience. I’m looking forward to Hickstead in May and know I will be supported by the Queen Mary’s Equestrian Centre team”.
Alice Clennan, Queen Mary’s Equestrian Centre Manager said: “I am extremely proud of all our riders. The girls displayed excellent technical and riding ability alongside good attitude and teamwork”.
