Virtual House Show
Queen Mary’s Virtual House Show Comes to Town
This half term saw the wackiest and wildest House competition take place, Queen Mary’s Virtual House Show. The girls in Year 10 successfully organised Years 3 – 11 and some staff, had lots of fun and in the process raised over £600 for the school’s Charity of the Year, Tiggywinkles. Congratulations to everyone involved.
The House Show usually takes place in school at this time of year to keep community spirit high during February and to raise money for the school charity. This year we took it online and the girls did a fabulous job. The theme was a certain letter of the alphabet for each House to interpret in any way they wished. There was dancing, acting, gymnastic tricks on horses and more.
Thank you to the judges, West End performer and Principal of DPTA Theatre School, Damien Poole and the first female Yeoman Warder of the Tower of London, Moira Cameron. They were looking for creativity, presentation, choreography and star quality.
The standard was fantastic and following great deliberation the winning House was Rievaulx. Here is their video:
Instead of the usual ticket sales, viewers pledged donations to our elected School Charity, Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital. If you wish to make a donation please visit our JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/virtual-house-show
Thank you to everyone who was involved.
