Queen Mary’s catering is provided by Holroyd Howe who specialise in providing freshly prepared, nutritious food exclusively to independent schools and colleges. They pride themselves on getting to know you and becoming part of the school community catering for a whole host of dietary requirements.
Meet the Chef
Queen Mary’s is very lucky to have Gary Forster as Head Chef who has packed a lot into his career so far – from working with Marco Pierre White to the Michelin-starred restaurant at Seaham Hall where he worked under Kenny Atkinson, during which time he helped him on the Great British Menu. “I love it here – it’s my dream job,” says Gary. “From the beautiful grounds, to the happy atmosphere in the school, to the enthusiastic girls and work-life balance – it’s a lovely place to work.”
In a recent inspection the kitchens and servery were given the top rating of 5 stars within the Food Hygiene Scheme by the Food Standards Agency.
School menus change daily, rotating on a tri-weekly basis with additional choices and special events to look forward to such as themed days, barbecues and the ever popular Christmas Dinner.
