Set within 40 acres of stunning North Yorkshire parkland between Ripon and Thirsk, our campus feels like a world of its own, one that is just minutes from the A1(M) and easily reachable by road, train, or even air, for girls joining us from further afield.

Directions to Our School
By Road
From the A1. Take the A168 (exit 49). After 1 mile leave the A168, signposted Asenby. Just before the bridge over the River Swale, take a sharp left hand turning signposted Baldersby St James and Rainton. Queen Mary’s School is approximately 400 metres along the road on the right hand side.
From the A19. Take the exit onto the A168. Take first exit on left, after petrol station, signposted A167 for Alanbrooke Barracks and Topcliffe. Follow the road into the main street of Topcliffe village. The main road crosses the River Swale. Take the right turn immediately after the bridge on the sharp bend signposted Baldersby St. James and Rainton. The school is approximately 400 metres along the road on the right hand side
By Train
Thirsk train station is a 10 minute drive from the school. Other local railway stations include Harrogate and York – both of which can be reached in just over 35 minutes.
By Air
Our local airports are Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, and Teeside, with our closest airport, Leeds Bradford International, a 45-minute drive away. Larger airports such as Manchester and the various London Airports can be reached in a few hours.
Transport to Our School
Conveniently located just off the A1 within the beautiful surroundings of Baldersby Park, Queen Mary’s School is easily accessible via excellent road links.
Our dedicated school minibus service operates across the region, with routes and stops reviewed each term to meet the needs of our families. If you would like to request a specific stop or route, please contact our Transport Manager below.
Minibus services are scheduled to arrive at school by 08:30, and depart at 17:30, following the end of after-school clubs.
